JUST PUBLICITY with Four Films in the 60. International Berlin Film Festival Competition
Four of the announced competition films in the upcoming 60. International Berlin Film Festival are represented by Just Publicity. The theatrical films from Oscar® winners and renowned directors Martin Scorsese and Roman Polanski will have their world premieres in Berlin. Roman Polanski´s (Oscar® for „The Pianist“) highly awaited thriller THE GHOST WRITER , based on the novel „Ghost“ from successful author Robert Harris, who wrote the script together with Polanski, is stunningly cast with Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Olivia Williams and Kim Cattrall and was filmed on location in Germany (Theatrical Release: 18. February 2010 –Kinowelt). Psychothriller SHUTTER ISLAND from Martin Scorsese (Theatrical Release: 25. February – Concorde Film Distribution) is running in the Berlinale out of competition and awaits an impressive ensemble of actors. In the lead roles are Leonardo Di Caprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley and Michelle Williams. Indian´s biggest most popular screen actor Shah Rukh Khan will be attending the Berlinale: in 2008 he attended the Berlinale for the first time and made headlines in the capital and this year is attending with his new film MY NAME IS KHAN, a touching love story which takes place in the United States, accompanied by his enchanting leading actress in many of his films, Kajol Devgan. The film, an American-Indian coproduction, from successful director Karan Johar is running in the Berlinale´s main platform out of competetion (Theatrical Release: 6. May 2010 from Twentieth Century Fox of Germany). Additionally, the world premier of Oskar Roehler´s new film is also in competition. The film tells the story of „Jud Suß“ –Ferdinand Marian the lead actor from the Nazi Propaganda film from Veit Harlan – at the time a pet project of Joseph Goebbels. Roehler had the opportunity to cast a dream team of German and Austrian actors including Tobias Moretti, Martin Gedeck and Moritz Bleibtreu. The German theatrical release from Concorde Film Distribution is planned for autumn 2010.
